      \u201cA friend initially handed me Emma\u2019s book when they heard I wanted to get divorced but what really lured me into the Absolute Academy was the calm authoritative tone of its director, Emma Heptonstall on the phone one morning.       There were plenty of times when something too awful to bear alone happened and then I had a place to fire off a message, safe in the knowledge that I would get an answer almost immediately, plus a dose of sympathy and a knowledge of what that feels like. This was something no friends or family could provide.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

      Emma provided me with the name and details of one of the central characters in my divorce: a truly fantastic solicitor. Having this person was pivotal in my situation.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

      Later, when trying to avoid going back to court yet again, Emma wrote a letter – describing my situation and her part in supporting me – which had the authority to enable my bank to hear me and act in my favour accordingly.       \u201cOriginally (naively) I thought my divorce wouldn\u2019t need solicitors so it was that balance of having some guidance and support versus paying lots of money to a solicitor and so I knew it would be really cost effective but the beauty of working with Emma is that she can balance all of those things, and when it did end up being super high-conflict, her absolute robust background and training sets her apart.<\/p>\n

      She had the education and experience to really hold my hand through that process of actually getting me through the court process and formalities with the compassion and empathy which is what I needed – guidance, focus structure, some tough love occasionally but compassion and empathy.<\/p>\n

      When my divorce turned into a high-conflict situation she pivoted in what you offered me. It\u2019s also important to me that Emma doesn’t allow man-bashing. In the community she allows people to share their stories but you doesn\u2019t let us get stuck in man-bashing and ruminating and she guides us away from that because it really isn’t helpful.<\/p>\n

      Emma has the ability to be endlessly patient and neutral especially when someone is stuck and not listening to the guidance in the group programme. The community is super-important. A knowledgeable group of women who all support each other and are so well moderated.
