But remember &#8211; Ai isn&#8217;t a human going through divorce like you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So how do you use Ai in your divorce and what do you need to consider?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ai can be a wonderful resource to have at your fingertips when you\u2019re feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what your future holds. However, it cannot provide emotionally nuanced, or legally specific, answers to your personalised divorce questions. This is because divorce is not solely a legal process, it is also an emotional and relational process at a time of high stress. Just seeing it land on your doormat has your heart racing. AI can play a role in helping you here. You can take that letter, sit down and read it. You can check your understanding, by running it through AI. You can clarify any phrases or processes you don\u2019t understand. AI lacks the nuance to respond to emotionally traumatic life events fully, and may also provide out-of-context and incomplete information.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are so many external and relational factors when it comes to divorce. With all of these bigger picture and internal factors, you will have blind spots. This is especially true for major life-changing events such as divorce, which bring with them a degree of trauma.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When you experience trauma your nervous system is dysregulated. Your body and mind feel under threat and are desperately seeking certainty and reassurance. Which AI might seem to provide. However, you need to take care. Divorce decisions are rarely clear-cut, and it is wise to step back and take a wider view. Your personal situation will never be exactly the same as the scenarios AI has drawn from.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some clients who have come to me in recent months have clocked up a lot of \u2018AI hours\u2019, getting lost down rabbit holes as a result of conversations with AI. And this is completely understandable, but not helpful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Relying on AI as your sole source of information and support is a form of emotional bypassing. It keeps you in your head, desperately striving to solve a string of divorce-related problems. While divorce does bring decisions to make and problems to be solved, this is not the whole picture.
